I believe so I act!

First if we believe the promises of God in the bible, we should be doing more of praise than asking.

Isaiah 55:
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater.
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

He dwells in the praise of his people  (Psalm 22:3).  If the almighty God indwells my praise, then I need to be praising him more in order to get to His heart.

Gratitude according to the best seller

Gratitude is an expression of appreciation of what one has. If we are grateful for what we have already have then we are creating room for more. It’s a case of half full not half empty. We are not to focus on what we don’t have but on what we already have. So in a way we are counting our blessing and no recounting our woes.

Gratitude is saying thank you for what you believe you have received. This is actually a higher level of faith as you have not seen physically but have already acknowledged receipt and saying thank you for it. Regardless of what you see physically, you are saying thank you!

So what does the BIBLE (basic information before leaving earth) has to say about gratitude, a lot.

We are to enter His gate with thanksgiving in our heart Ps 100:4
We are give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18

Why thankgiving?

Today I want to look at a scripture that sometimes challenges me. That scripture is taken from the the book of Philippians:

  • Do   not  be anxious for  anything  but  with   prayer,   supplication   and thanksgiving, let your request  be made known to Him. Philippians 4:6

This verse is encouraging us to ask in prayer, supplication is another form  of prayer meaning petition but in addition to this we need to give thanks for the answer.

Wait a minute? I thought you only say thanks when you receive something?  Not according to this verse, thanksgiving needs to accompany your request.

This is how we think in the natural but as prayer is a supernatural thing, spiritually we need to believe we have received hence the giving of thanks. Spiritual things are more real than the natural.
